THE DELIVERY PACK: ONE MASTER, EVERY PLACEMENT, NOTHING LOST

ByeBuy.ai artwork for The Delivery Pack: One Master, Every Placement, Nothing Lost

Review is done, the verdict is SHIP. Now the piece has to survive contact with real placements — a blog hero, a Short, an email embed, an ad slot, a deck slide. Each wants different crops, lengths, and metadata. Without a delivery system, you re-export from memory, break a link, and lose the prompt that made the good shot.

The pack: eight parts

A publishing pack is the set of files that lets anyone ship the piece without asking you anything. Build it the same way every time:

1. Master: the highest-quality finished file (e.g., 1920×1080, full length), rendered once from the approved edit. Never re-edit the master per placement — derive variants from it. 2. Variants: cropped and trimmed copies — vertical 9:16 for Shorts/Reels/TikTok, square 1:1 for feeds, muted captioned cut for autoplay. Each filename states placement and specs. 3. Thumbnail: one still designed to read at small size — three to five words max, face or diagram, brand colors. Test it at stamp size before approving. 4. Title + description: the headline and two-to-three-sentence summary, written once, reused with placement tweaks. Title carries the promise; description carries evidence and the link. 5. Captions file: corrected .srt or sidecar captions plus burned-in variant where the platform demands it. Captions match the Lesson 62.3 corrected text exactly. 6. Alt text + credits: alt text for every visual (Lesson 62.3 rules) plus credit lines — voice, music, model/tool with date, sources cited. AI-generated portions are labeled plainly. 7. UTM + links: the canonical link plus per-placement UTMs so you can tell blog traffic from Shorts traffic. Every link in the pack is the tested final URL, not a draft. 8. Archive note: where the master, prompts, and project folder live, so a future you (or a future agent) can regenerate or revise in six months.

Delivery by placement

One master, deliberate derivations. Never stretch, crop blind, or let a platform's auto-crop eat the captions:

  • Blog hero: landscape master or 16:9 still, headline overlay in safe area, alt text set, file under a size budget that keeps the page fast. Link: canonical URL.
  • Blog embed: full master with captions on, transcript below the fold for search and accessibility.
  • Shorts / Reels / TikTok: vertical 9:16 cut, under the platform's length cap, hook in the first two seconds, CTA spoken and captioned plus pinned comment with link. Burned-in captions for muted autoplay.
  • Email: lightweight thumbnail linking to the canonical page — never the full video file. Alt text on the image, CTA as text link beneath it for image-blocked inboxes.
  • Ad slot: shortest compliant cut with the claim exactly as reviewed — no new superlatives for "performance." Separate UTM; separate thumbnail if the platform requires it.
  • Deck / classroom: stills or muted loop, large-type key line, source footnote on the slide. What played as narration in video becomes readable text here.

Record each derivation as one line: source master, crop, length, caption treatment, link. "Shorts cut ← master v3, 0:00–0:29 center-crop 9:16, burned captions, UTM ?utm_source=shorts" is a line someone can audit. "Made a vertical version" is not.

Findable beats clever

The folder from Lesson 62.2 grows one level: working/ holds prompts and takes, masters/ holds the approved master, exports/ holds every shipped variant with its metadata beside it:

  masters/explainer-30s-master-v3.mp4
  exports/
    explainer-30s-blog-hero.mp4
    explainer-30s-shorts-9x16.mp4
    explainer-30s-square.mp4
    thumbnail.png
    titles-descriptions.md
    captions.srt
    alt-credits.md
    links-utms.md
  working/prompts.md
  PUBLISHING-PACK.md

PUBLISHING-PACK.md is the index: one table mapping each placement to its file, specs, title, link, and status. Anyone opening the folder six months later should be able to re-ship without regenerating.

Name files for search, not for vibes: explainer-30s-shorts-9x16-v3.mp4 beats final-FINAL-v2.mp4. Version the master (v1, v2, v3); variants inherit the master version they came from.

Exercise: ship blog + one short channel → PUBLISHING-PACK

Using your reviewed explainer, build PUBLISHING-PACK.md and the exports/ files (real or spec'd) for two placements:

Checklist — blog:

  • [ ] Hero still or embed with alt text written out
  • [ ] Title + 2-sentence description with evidence line and canonical link
  • [ ] Transcript or summary below the fold
  • [ ] File size noted; page-speed acceptable

Checklist — short channel (pick Shorts, Reels, or TikTok):

  • [ ] 9:16 cut, length within cap, hook in first 2 seconds
  • [ ] Burned-in corrected captions; CTA spoken and on screen
  • [ ] Thumbnail legible at stamp size (3–5 words)
  • [ ] Pinned-comment link + UTM recorded
  • [ ] Credits line (voice / music / tool + date)
# PUBLISHING-PACK.md — explainer-30s (master v3)

| Placement | File | Specs | Title / CTA | Link | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blog | exports/explainer-30s-blog-hero.mp4 | 16:9, 0:29, caps on | "What an agent remembers" / see link | /lessons/agents-memory + ?utm_source=blog | READY |
| Shorts | exports/explainer-30s-shorts-9x16.mp4 | 9:16, 0:29, burned caps | Hook: "Your chatbot forgets. An agent doesn't have to." | /lessons/agents-memory + ?utm_source=shorts | READY |

- Captions: exports/captions.srt (corrected, matches narration verbatim)
- Alt: "Four-step loop diagram, amber on navy: think, act, observe, decide."
- Credits: Voice — [tool, date]; music — [track, license]; visuals — [tool, date]; sources — Class 30 loop, Research Desk brief.
- Archive: masters/explainer-30s-master-v3.mp4; prompts in working/prompts.md.

Finish line: a PUBLISHING-PACK.md plus an exports/ folder covering blog and one short channel, every file named, linked, and credited.

Verify fast: click every link in the pack, play each export with sound off (captions must carry it) and sound on (mix must be clear), and confirm the thumbnail reads at stamp size. Common failure: shipping the master file itself to Shorts and letting auto-crop cut the captions in half. Derive the crop; do not delegate it.

Check your understanding

1. What eight parts make up a publishing pack? 2. Why derive variants from the master instead of re-editing per placement? 3. What belongs in PUBLISHING-PACK.md that does not belong in any single export file? 4. Your Shorts auto-crop cuts the lower-third CTA. What is the correct fix, and where is it recorded?

Next

You can now take one idea from brief to published pack — the full Class 62 arc. Class 63 asks a sharper question: what is UGC, and why does content that looks like a person with a phone increasingly outperform polished advertising? Your delivery-pack discipline is exactly what makes that leap possible.
